Peter Gale
Chief Executive Officer
Peter Gale is the Chief Executive Officer. Until August 2013 he was one of Her Majesty's Inspectors (HMI) of Education (Children's Services & Skills). As HMI he inspected both primary and secondary schools and also providers in Initial Teacher Education. He has significant experience of school improvement work with Ofsted, for example, he provided challenge and support to a number of schools to help them exit special measures. In the last year of his time with Ofsted, he provided well received support and challenge to twelve primary and secondary schools that were judged to 'require improvement'. This took the form of on-site monitoring visits, facilitation of school-to-school support and telephone support relating to data analysis, inspection frameworks and school systems development.
